Mystery Mineral Test

This is a test run for the Mooney Fine Mineral of the Month Club - each package comes with a specimen and a laminated write up on the specimen. 

This particular piece came from a mine that was operational from the 1850s until the 1970s in California. While the exact date of collection is unknown - it was likely in the late 1950s or early 1960s. What makes this piece special is the locality and history that goes with it - and of course there are sparkles!
