Iceland Spar Calcite - Viking Sunstone

Iceland spar calcite (also called a viking sunstone) is a birefringent optical calcite cleavage that was apparently used by ancient peoples for navigation. However it had another fun property in that it splits images into two as light passing through the stone is split into two wavelengths. Fun!
