Fully Terminated Verdelite Tourmaline - Chia Mine

This stunning green tourmaline (verdelite) from the Chia Mine in Sao José de Safira, Minas Gerais Brazil has superb color especially backlit. There is a minor calcite coating in spots. It weighs over 45 grams and is priced at $5 a gram. Which is far more competitive than the $10-$15 a gram that specimens from this locality often go for on today's market.

Chia Mine was an experimental mine in the late 80s and early 90s but was closed down. Prospectors within the last decade pulled out some specimens, but very few have come from this mine overall.
