Faden Quartz

This is a faden quartz point. Faden is a German word often translated as "thread" or "spine" and it refers to the white line you see running through the piece/pieces. That is the original crystal growth and what you see around it was a later formation. This particular specimen is from the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan.
