Aragonite Cave Crystals From Morocco

Aragonite and calcite are both polymorphs, crystals with the same chemical make up but slightly different crystal structures. They are very difficult to differentiate and that distinction only really matters to professional geologists. At the end of the day both are calcium carbonate and either one was more prevalent at various points in human history. Calcium carbonates are the active ingredients in TUMS. They also have a wide variety of uses in construction, being used as a medium in cement for instance. Aragonite is a 3 on the Mohs scale of hardness.
